Stanford Delegation Visits Segundo Montes

Community Segundo Montes had a visit from a group of 12 students (mostly sophomores and Juniors) and 3 professors from the University of Stanford in California. Their class is on the history, culture and development of El Salvador. It also focuses on the Liberation Theologypracticed in El Salvador during the time of the civil war. Their goal of coming to the country was to put everything they had learned on paper about El Salvador into perspective.
They had a busy day; celebrating mass in the San Luis church and afterwards meeting with the Pastoral team and learning about the history of their struggle and the introduction and use of liberation theology in it. They then had an enthusiastic and interactive chat with a very active, Indigenous youth leader from the town of Cacoapera.
